Dhreima team visits UAE social services centres

DOHA SEEKING to benefit from the experiences of neighbouring countries in the care of orphans, a delegation from Dhreima, the Qatar Foundation for Orphan Care, headed by Dhreima chairman Ahmed Nasr al Nasr, recently visited the United Arab Emirates.

Mohammed Mahmoud, a board member, and Khalid Kamal, director of the Foundation, were also part of the delegation.

The Dhreima team visited the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, which provides educational, social, psychological and health services to orphans, the Sharjah Social Services Department as well as the Social Welfare Home for Children which is run by the Social Services Department. They also paid a visit to the Zayed House for Family Care in Al Ain, which is affiliated to the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care.

Dhreima chairman met with the UAE’s Minister of Social Affairs Mariam al Roumi and Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Naji al Hai in Dubai. Nasr expressed his gratitude and admiration to these officials for their cooperation with Dhreima, providing it access to the services provided by these leading institutions which have years’ experience in orphans’ care.
