$ 6.5bn QP, Shell contract to flour

DOHA QATAR Petroleum and Shell awarded the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the 6.5 billion dollar petrochemical plant in Ras Laffan city, flour, in Doha, scheduled on Thursday.

The petrochemical project, known as project Already Karaana petrochemical products, includes a world-wide steam cracker with raw materials from natural gas projects in Qatar. The project is expected to begin production in early 2018.

Earlier, revealed the Minister of energy and industry and President & Managing Director of QP, Hey Dr. Mohammad bin Saleh al Sada the logo of the Al Karaana petrochemicals Complex.

Speaking at the function, said Sada Karaana petrochemicals Complex that already has eyes to boost Qatar growing stature in the global petrochemical industry.

He said the petrochemical project fits in well with Qatar's strategy to strengthen and further diversify its growing chemical industry and is an important milestone in the journey of becoming a global petrochemical producer.

President of the project Executive Committee, Mohammed Nasser al Ha, who is also the QP Downstream Ventures Director, said: "the focus of the project team is on the delivery of a quality FEED that will be an important step towards this project successfully to deliver".
