RAF opens Doha village in Pakistan

SHEIKH Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for humanitarian services (RAF) has initiated Doha village, which the district Rahim Yar Khan has built in Punjab, Pakistan. The complex consists of 200 houses, a mosque, a school and health units, as well as shops.

RAF Honorary President Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah al Thani cut the Ribbon to mark the opening of the ' village ', along with the RAF Director-General and the Board of Trustees President Ayed bin Dbassan al Qahtani.

The provision of housing to beneficiary families will begin soon.

Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf and Qatar's Ambassador in Pakistan had to attending the event. However, due to adverse weather conditions all flights had to be grounded.

However, Sheikh Ali received a letter from Ashraf, praised the humanitarian efforts of Qatar in establishing the village of Doha and expressing apologies for his inability to attend the ceremony.
