Sheikha Moza urges the leaders to support education for children in conflict areas

: Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Geneva called on world leaders to ensure that all children access to education, in particular in the conflict areas.

HH Sheikha Moza made the call during the Human Rights Council high-level Panel on human rights Mainstreaming in the UN headquarters in Geneva on Saturday.

"It is unacceptable that education remains a victim of conflict," said HH Sheikha Moza.

Gives an example of the situation in Gaza, "said HH Sheikha Moza the Israeli blockade continued to have a crippling effect, especially on education, since many schools have suffered from chairs, school books and supplies, pencils, can't get in.

"Since 2009, the Al Fakhoora program works with the UNDP to young people to put higher education, help reconstruct school buildings and provide psycho-social support," HH Sheikha Moza noted.

Today, 28 million children around the world are denied due to conflict training.

Yet, education is one of the most powerful tools that the cycle of conflict, HH Sheikha Moza stresses can break.

They hoped that the objectives of the future sustainable development would take a more ambitious approach to education, moving beyond basic education to include specific objectives on education in conflict, quality of learning and lifelong education.

HH Sheikha Moza added that the level of ambition of the future objectives of progress between now and 2015 will depend on.

"That's why I raise a child the initiative launched last year. It works with expert partners of UN agencies with global reach to NGOs with local roots, "she said.

HH Sheikha Moza noticed the initiative supports all half a million children in the most difficult circumstances to get access to education.

"We are still trying innovative partnerships to help us reach millions more children.

No one can deny that human rights values – the values of dignity, respect, responsibility, justice, tolerance and equal opportunities-essential features for human development.
