Grootste ooit Zuid-Indiase film gebeurtenis ingesteld op Doha fans enthral

KAMAL DOHA Hassan, Mohan Lal and Mammootty will be among more than 200 stars and other personalities of the South Indian film attending an event will be held in Doha in the framework of the 100th anniversary of Indian Cinema next month.

The planned film presentation awards ceremony, held on May 3 at the West End Park of The Pearl-Qatar, is organized by city-based Matrix Media, a media and event management company.

The ceremony, called the Pearl Awards, see 30 super stars of the Kerala film industry the prestigious award and promises to be a spectacle never-seen-before for the population of the city.

The Pearl Awards wants to bring top South Indian cinema personalities on one platform in an event that is sure to captivate the entire Indian community in Qatar.

"We at Matrix Media proudly say that this event would be the first show of West End Park in Qatar which boasts of an amphitheatre with over 15,000 chairs and a made-up stage on which nearly 100 metres wide in length," said the organizers.

"The Pearl Awards is fortunate enough to have the first show ever to happen in West End Park and as such would open for the first time for this event. With hundreds of A-list celebrities expected to attend, the ceremony promises to be an unforgettable evening, "she added.

While speaking recently at a press conference in Doha, said Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) President Milan Jaleel that the Pearl Awards 2013 aims to promote and honor talented artists in movies and art, and also to celebrate the contributions of Veterans under one roof.

An idea of the extent of the South of the Indian film industry can be taken of the fact that as many as 147 Malayalam films were released in theatres in the year 2012. The jury will go through these movies and select the winners.

The show will also be attended by the well-known writer MT Vasudevan Nari, text writer SOFTWARE DEVLOPER Kurupu and Director Ilayaraja Balasubramanayam Dhakshinamoorthy, playback singers, Music Director SP and P Jayachandran and National Award-winning director Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

The show is organized in collaboration with Kerala Film Producers Association and Mata Amritananda Association of Malayalam movie Artistes (MAYI) is one of the largest Indian shows ever seen in Doha.

Among the other prominent players scheduled to attend the show are Jayaram, Dileep, Indrajith, Prithviraj, Lal, Nedumudi Venu, Sidhique, Fahad Fazil, Kavya Madhavan, Meera Jasmin, Lakshmi Gopalaswami, Sonja, Jayabharathi, KPAC Lalitha, Bhavana and Ambika.

Apart from actors, the show will also be attended by directors Priyadarshan, Kailas and Renji Panikker Saeed Malayil, Freddy.

Matrix Media Operations Director Manu Chandrasekhar, head of creations George Peter, commercial Manager Vinod V Nair, Ramachandran, Managing Director Operations Manager Lekha Anand Rajan, General Manager Anish Rajan, KFPA President Milan Jaleel, Secretary-General Sasi Ayanchira and Vice President & CEO, Century 21, property owners, West End Park Qatar Mana Ibrahim al Mana were present at the press conference while Mata Amritananda MAYI General Secretary Idavela Babu and Innocent the President attended by video-conferencing.

More than 16,000 people are likely to attend the May 3 program.
