Pakistan’s folk culture comes alive at Pak Shamaa School fiesta

DOHA TRADITIONAL Pakistan came alive at the annual cultural fiesta held at the Pak Shamaa School and College on Thursday.

The function titled ‘Living with Culture’ was held at the institution’s complex in Mesaimeer area.

The event also marked the third anniversary of the school’s new building.

President of the school management committee M A Shahid was the chief guest on the occasion.

A large number of dignitaries, community members, parents and students were present.

Students, attired in traditional dresses, presented skits and songs to entertain the gathering and showcase culture of Pakistani provinces of Baluchistan, Punjab, Sind and Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa.

Muhammad Rafiq and Azhar Hayat coordinated the programme while Muzaffar Hussain compered it.

Principal Nabila Kaukab highlighted the salient features of Pakistani arts and culture enacted on stage in the form of models and replicas.

She lauded the efforts of teachers and students who participated in the event.

The teachers who prepared the students for the event included Raza, Rana Haider, Farooq, Shoaib, G H Sajid, Murad Ali, Ahsan Javid, Musarrat Khan, Arshad, Akram, Uzma, Sumaira Yaqoob, Alia Shahzad, Naureen, Farzana Naeem, Tehmina, Nasreen Riaz, Mehnaz, Farah Hashim, Ghazala, Shamim Amjad and Sarah Robinson.
