Hundreds of workers to take advantage of free medical camp on Friday

DOHA hundreds of workers are expected to attend the camp's health and have free medical check-ups on a program to be held in the buildings of the Medical Commission on Friday as part of the world day for safety and health at work.

Organized by the Supreme Council of health (SCH) in collaboration with the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Ministry of labour, civil protection and Focus Qatar, the event will feature health check-ups, lectures and training sessions from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, SCH public health Director Dr. Mohammed al Thani said: "the goal of the camp is to ensure people that Qatar is a safe place to work. We are working hard to achieve this.

The program will feature lectures on how to prevent communicable and non-communicable diseases.

"Civil protection personnel also offers tips on how to address accidental fire in buildings and factories. We are also focused on a major campaign on heat stroke. We hope that through greater awareness, cases of heat stroke and thermal tax will be reduced in Qatar. " This year SCH Labor Day celebrations are held under the theme ' the prevention of occupational diseases '.
