ICC organises art competition

DOHA INDIAN Cultural Center (ICC) and Faber Castel Art Competition jointly organised a painting competition ‘Expression 2013’ at Bhavan’s Public School in Wakra recently offering a large number of children the opportunity to display their talents in art and painting.

The event, which had the support of different Indian schools in Qatar, received 900 entries in colouring, drawing, painting and pencilsketching segments of the competition. The contestants were divided into nursery, sub-junior, junior, sub-senior and senior categories.

The winners in the contest were honoured at the Ashoka Hall of ICC after the competition.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by the Chief Coordinating Officer of ICC and Second Secretary at the Indian embassy Suman Sharma, ICC President Tarun Kumar Basu, ICC Advisory Council Member Hassan Chougule, ICBF President Karim Abdulla, Faber Castell official Hari and ICC Managing Committee members.

ICC also honoured DPSMIS School for enrolling maximum number of students for the contest.

The ICC also announced consolation prizes close to 10 percent of the total entries to encourage the children for participating in such an event.
