Studenten verkennen opties op ABP evenement

DOHA QATAR Foundation (QF) of academic Bridge program (ABP) on Saturday held its annual event titled ' Discover ABP ' to attract prospective students. Several 11th and 12th grade students attended the event along with their parents and had a chance to learn about the program and higher education explore options after high school.

In talks with Qatar Tribune about the objectives of the event, ABP Director Dr. Miles Lovelace said: "the goal of ' Discover ABP ' to high school students and their parents to the ABP and what we do here. This will help them on how to apply if they are interested in the program next year.

We want everyone knows about it, so can we can the students who benefit most from here. " Dr. Lovelace added that the event one of the two activities organized by ABP was every year.

He said, "the ABP here is already 12 years, but there are still people in Doha, who don't know about the Abp or what it does. So, we organize a few events each year where we parents and prospective students to the ABP and the admission procedures. " Following comments by school representatives, including the Director, students, and parents at the event were taken on a tour of the ABP facilities, which are housed in the iconic liberal arts and Science (LAS) building, where they were met by members of the Faculty of ABP.

The ABP standard recordings for the upcoming academic year are open and will close on July14. Students eligible to apply the standard admission to the ABP must submit a copy of the high school with an average of 75 percent figures, a minimum iBT TOEFL score of 53 or an IELTS score of 4.5
Students who meet these criteria, are required to complete and submit application form on the ABP-Office Admissions or online at www.abp.edu.qa, along with a copy of their identity card or passport, and pays a Qatari application fee of QR500.

The ABP has more than 2300 young men and women who have participated in the English language Foundation program in the past 12 years served. Almost 90% of the participants of Qataris, and over 85 percent of the graduates ABP later English universities in Qatar or abroad have visited.

In 2011, the ABP five-year accreditation by the Commission on English language accreditation (CEA) in the United States.

Students who perform well on the ABP and meet the basic University admission requirements have the ability to direct the first year of undergraduate programs at a number of universities in the United Kingdom and Germany. In addition, students interested in accession to certain universities in Qatar are given credit for courses they took on the ABP.
