DOHA QATAR Petroleum (QP) Medical Services Division recently implemented a series of dental health promotion sessions for students from different schools in the country.
Under the program titled ' A Lifetime of healthy Smiles ', the QP dental team visited Qatar in Doha, Dukhan English School independent technical School, Mesaieed International School and Tai O Arabic School for girls, where they set of oral health promotion sessions held.
The main goal was to educating students on proper oral hygiene, so that they can develop good dental health habits that will last a lifetime.
The program was part of QP of corporate social responsibility initiatives, according to Ahmad Ali al Mawlawi, Director for the management of QP. Mawlawi pointed out that the program is consistent with the ongoing Community cooperation programmes of QP of medical services and is designed to correct dental health through education, oral care tools and better access to dental care to the students and their families.
The QP dental team, which consists of dentists, hygienists, assistants of oral and maxillofacial surgery is creation of a Center oral hygiene in the schools they visited where they performed dental checks on dental hygiene students and hands-on sessions using models and interactive sessions held.
Selective awareness presentations and one-on-one consultations were also held as part of the program.
Dr. Ahmad al Badran, acting health services manager of QP, said that an integrated approach to promotion by the Department offers benefits to the Community through the promotion of welfare, strengthen the capacity of the community and minimize the burden of the disease. "We are pleased to be part of it and are grateful that our Directorate continued support to such programs," he said.
The oral health awareness programme was supported by the Supreme Education Council (SEC) and the QP Dukhan operations and industrial cities Directorate.
A statement by the QP Medical Services Department said that the dental health program the Department's key policy objectives related to the prevention of oral diseases through the promotion and protection of health program supports.
